PLUS - Privacy, Consent & Marriage Initiative Participation

Effective Date: August 1, 2026

PLUS is designed to help couples strengthen their relationships through greater awareness, intentional effort, meaningful feedback, and consistent connection.

Because PLUS may contain highly personal information about a couple's relationship, protecting the privacy of our users is one of our highest priorities.

We also hope that, with the voluntary participation of PLUS users, what we learn can eventually contribute to something bigger: helping us better understand what strengthens marriages and relationships and using those insights to help couples throughout the world.

This document explains both:

1. How PLUS collects, uses, protects, and shares information necessary to provide the PLUS service; and

2. How users may optionally participate in the PLUS Marriage Initiative by allowing de-identified relationship information to contribute to broader insights and learning.

1. Information PLUS Collects

When you create and use a PLUS account, we may collect information necessary to provide the service, including:

• Your name

• Email address

• Phone number

• Account and login information

• Partner information necessary to connect your accounts

• Marriage or relationship information you voluntarily provide

• Daily check-in responses

• Weekly check-in ratings

• Written feedback

• Relationship scores and trends

• Participation and completion information

• General geographic information, such as ZIP code, when provided

• Subscription and payment-related account information

• Communications with PLUS support

Some of the information shared through PLUS may be personal, sensitive, or emotionally significant. We recognize the responsibility that comes with receiving this information.

2. How PLUS Uses Your Information

Information collected through PLUS may be used to:

• Provide the PLUS relationship check-in experience

• Connect you with your participating spouse or partner

• Deliver daily and weekly check-ins

• Deliver appropriate responses or feedback to your partner

• Calculate and display relationship scores and trends

• Track participation and relationship habits

• Provide reminders and notifications

• Provide relevant relationship education and resources

• Identify areas where additional relationship support may be helpful

• Operate, maintain, secure, and improve PLUS

• Respond to customer-service requests

• Prevent misuse, fraud, or unauthorized access

• Meet applicable legal obligations

PLUS will only share information between partners according to the functionality described within the app.

3. Your Information and Your Partner

PLUS is specifically designed around feedback between participating partners.

This means that some answers, ratings, comments, scores, and other information you submit are intended to be communicated to your partner.

Before submitting information, users should understand that information identified within the app as partner feedback may be visible to their participating spouse or partner.

PLUS should not be used to submit information that you do not want shared with your partner when the app indicates that the response will be shared.

4. Protecting Personal Information

PLUS is committed to protecting users' private information.

We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.

Access to personally identifiable information should be limited to authorized individuals and service providers who require access for legitimate PLUS operational purposes.

We do not sell personally identifiable relationship information to advertisers or unrelated third parties.

No electronic storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security, but PLUS is committed to using reasonable safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information entrusted to us.

5. Your Choices and Rights

Depending upon applicable law and the functionality available within PLUS, users may be able to:

• Review or update account information

• Change communication and notification preferences

• Request a copy of certain information associated with their account

• Request correction of inaccurate account information

• Request deletion of their PLUS account

• Request deletion of information when applicable

• Change their participation in the PLUS Marriage Initiative

Instructions for making privacy or account requests will be available through PLUS Support.

THE PLUS MARRIAGE INITIATIVE

6. Something Bigger Than One Marriage

PLUS was created first and foremost to help individual couples create stronger marriages.

But thousands—and eventually potentially millions—of couples making intentional efforts to improve their relationships could also teach us something important about what helps relationships thrive.

The PLUS Marriage Initiative is our effort to learn from the collective, voluntary participation of PLUS couples while protecting the identities and privacy of the individuals who participate.

Our hope is that aggregated insights may help us:

• Better understand the behaviors associated with healthy and satisfying marriages

• Identify common relationship challenges

• Understand patterns associated with relationship improvement

• Develop better educational resources for couples

• Improve PLUS tools and interventions

• Identify broader relationship trends

• Develop information that may benefit marriage educators, professionals, couples, and communities

• Contribute to the larger effort to strengthen marriages and families

Participation in the Marriage Initiative is voluntary.

You do not have to participate in the Marriage Initiative to use PLUS.

7. What Information May Be Used for the Marriage Initiative

If you choose to participate, certain relationship information collected through PLUS may be used for analysis after being separated from direct personal identifiers.

This may include information such as:

• Daily check-in ratings

• Weekly relationship ratings

• Relationship trends over time

• Participation and consistency patterns

• General relationship characteristics

• General demographic or geographic categories when provided

• Patterns of improvement or decline

• Use of PLUS relationship resources

• Other relationship information appropriate for aggregate analysis

Whenever practicable, Marriage Initiative information will be associated with a randomized or coded identifier rather than directly identifying information.

8. Information We will Keep Confidential in Marriage Initiative Analysis

Direct personal identifiers should be separated from Marriage Initiative datasets wherever reasonably possible.

These may include:

• Your name

• Your partner's name

• Email address

• Phone number

• Login credentials

• Payment information

• Personal contact information

• Other information whose primary purpose is to identify or administer your individual account

The goal is to understand relationship patterns—not identify individual couples.

9. Aggregate and De-Identified Insights

PLUS may combine de-identified information from many participating users to identify larger patterns or trends.

For example, PLUS may eventually be able to explore questions such as:

• Which relationship behaviors are associated with higher reported satisfaction?

• What areas of marriage tend to improve together?

• Which relationship challenges appear most frequently?

• What habits seem associated with sustained relationship improvement?

• Are there meaningful differences in relationship trends between broad populations or geographic areas?

When PLUS publicly communicates Marriage Initiative findings, our goal will be to report information in aggregate or otherwise de-identified form rather than identifying individual users or couples.

10. Improving PLUS and Marriage Education

Insights from participating couples may also be used to improve:

• PLUS relationship resources

• Educational content

• Relationship exercises

• Automated support messages

• Coaching and educational approaches

• Future PLUS features

• Programs designed to strengthen marriages and relationships

The larger purpose of the Marriage Initiative is to allow willing couples to contribute anonymously or in de-identified form to knowledge that may help other couples.

11. Participation Is Voluntary

Choosing not to participate in the PLUS Marriage Initiative will not prevent you from using the ordinary features of PLUS.

Your Marriage Initiative participation should therefore be treated separately from the consent necessary for PLUS to process information required to provide the app.

You may change your Marriage Initiative participation preference through the mechanisms provided by PLUS.

12. Withdrawal From the Marriage Initiative

Users who have elected to participate may later withdraw from future Marriage Initiative participation.

After withdrawal, PLUS will stop including new eligible information from that user in Marriage Initiative datasets, subject to reasonable technical and legal limitations.

Information that has previously been permanently de-identified and incorporated into aggregate statistics, analyses, or reports may no longer be technically capable of being connected back to an individual account and therefore may not be removable from previously created aggregate results.

13. PLUS Is a Relationship Tool, Not Emergency Care

PLUS is intended to promote relationship awareness, communication, education, and intentional relationship development.

PLUS is not intended to replace professional medical, mental-health, legal, or emergency services.

Information, scores, resources, or suggestions provided through PLUS should not be interpreted as a diagnosis or guarantee regarding the health or future of a relationship.

14. Changes to These Practices

As PLUS grows, its features and privacy practices may evolve. If material changes are made to how personal information or Marriage Initiative information is collected, used, or shared, PLUS will update its disclosures and obtain additional consent when required.
